Dear Mom & Pop,
I’m still at the hospital here at Da Nang and I’m doing fine. They have teriffic chow here. The milk is real and they even have chocolate just like the base at Le Jeune. Don’t worry too much about me because I’m really doing great. I’ve been doing good since the guy in the hole with me put the bandage on after I got hit.
General Watt came in the ward the other day and passed out the Purple Hearts. Boy it really looks good. I guess I’m a genuine veteran now getting wounded and everything else. Well that’s the 5th ribbon I rate now.
Seven more months and I’ll be rotating. It’s still a long time but it sounds a hell of a lot shorter than 13!
If a couple of yas could get together at any one time I’d sure appreciate a picture. Well, I going to take off to chow now with a couple of the guys. Tell Denny & Kevin to write when they can, it’s been a dog’s age since I heard from either one of them. Take care and say hello to the Davenports for me.
