Immigrant and Refugee Support Groups

For AAPI immigrants and refugees, the transition from their home countries to New York often involves navigating systemic barriers and structural challenges. The following organizations are among the many dedicated to helping immigrants and refugees throughout the state.

Adhikaar, the Nepali word for “rights,” is a women-led organization that works to improve the lives of Nepali-speaking communities in New York State. It advocates for equitable access to health care, hosts workshops on immigration policy, and protects the rights of domestic workers.

Since then, it has expanded to all five boroughs, helping immigrants navigate state, federal, and local government and social services systems.
