Core Flow with the Hot Yoga Spot

The Hot Yoga Spot Logo
About the Class

Core Flow is an all-levels yoga class featuring sequences tied together with one common thread: the use of the core (the body’s center of strength and power).  Core Flow poses aim to target and strengthen the muscles associated with the center of your body.  The combination of strengthening poses with flowing movement makes this a great way to build heat and strength throughout your body.

About the Instructor

Dana began practicing yoga as a new way to exercise outside of her traditional workouts at the gym. She took her first yoga class at The Hot Yoga Spot in Stuyvesant Plaza and instantly fell in love with the practice. Not just loving the physical aspect, but the mental challenge as well. After practicing daily for years, Dana completed her foundational yoga training at The Hot Yoga Spot, earning her 200-hour teaching certification through Styles Yoga. On a quest to expand on her love of yoga and fitness, Dana also attended a Booty Barre training and is BarreFlow certified as well as Bikram trained through Not Your Mama’s Bikram Yoga program. Yoga has changed Dana's life and she loves the opportunity to guide others to bring positive energy to their lives as well. She strives to make sure that her classes are a tough workout but also a safe space for people to try something new and grow through personal practice.

This class is upbeat music and follows a vigorous pace, sure to pump you up and slim you down. No prior workout experience is needed and we can’t wait to sweat with you this summer.

About the Instructor

Katie started taking dance lessons at a young age and began to really focus her attention on ballet. Katie attended the Albany Berkshire Ballet where she had the opportunity to dance with the professional ballet company throughout High School. To further her advancement and experience, she trained with Boston Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet and Walnut Hill. Katie moved to New York City after receiving a dance scholarship to the Tisch School of Arts at New York University and received a BFA in Dance while performing in various NYC venues. During her time at NYU, Katie took Pilates with a direct student and trainee of Joseph Pilates, named Kathy Grant. This experience inspired her to get certified so she trained at the Kane School in Manhattan. In these past years, Katie has found a passion for yoga and barre classes. She decided that with her background in dance and Pilates that obtaining her barre certification was the perfect next step. In late 2013 Katie obtained her certification through Booty Barre and she has been teaching Barre Bootcamp classes with The Hot Yoga Spot ever since. Katie’s classes focus on alignment and working hard while also feeling playful and fun so expect to sweat and smile!
