Battle of Stone Arabia

After months of heavy fighting in the Mohawk Valley and Schoharie County, on October 19, 1780, Colonel John Brown, Massachusetts recruits, and New York militiamen, advanced on loyalists accused of destroying homes in Stone Arabia. In the ensuing battle, British troops defeated the Continental Army and killed Colonel Brown.
