Unfortunately, in 1985 this painting was vandalized beyond the possibility of a successful restoration. In particular, Gottlieb’s sensitive treatment of the surface of the painting has been lost. The Gottlieb Foundation has generously agreed to allow a black and white reproduction of the work to be included here.
