Art for Lunch tours are theme/topic-driven lunchtime tours of the Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza Art Collection. Tours will start at 12:30 p.m. and last approximately 30 minutes. The tour will invite participants to engage with selected works from the collection and learn a deeper history of featured artists. Each tour will focus on a different selection of artworks and on various themes such as: Artists Who Served, Post-Painterly Abstraction, Immigrant Artists, and The Art of Conservation. February’s Art for Lunch Tour will focus on three of the eleven artworks of the Empire State Plaza Art Collection that were commissioned for the Empire State Plaza. The tour will visit Sven Lukin’s, Untitled, 1969, enamel on wood, Al Held’s, Rothko’s Canvas, 1969-1970, acrylic on canvas and Gene Davis’s, Sky Wagon, 1969 acrylic on canvas. The tour will begin in the Corning Tower.
