Art for Lunch tours are theme/topic-driven lunchtime tours of the Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza Art Collection. Tours will start at 12:30 p.m. and last approximately 30 minutes. The tour will invite participants to engage with selected works from the collection and learn a deeper history of featured artists. Each tour will focus on a different selection of artworks and on various themes such as: Artists Who Served, Post-Painterly Abstraction, Immigrant Artists, and The Art of Conservation. January’s FREE Art For Lunch Tour will focus on a selection of indoor sculpture works of the Empire State Plaza Art Collection. The tour will explore works by artists David Smith, Donald Judd, and Isamu Noguchi. This month’s tour will also cover conservation efforts that go into maintaining the sculptures of the Plaza Art Collection.
